In Bihar, a train was set on fire

The Railway Ministry suspended the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) and Level 1 exams on Wednesday, 26 January, as protests against the Railway Recruitment Board’s (RRB) two-exam scheme grew violent in Bihar.

According to a notice issued by the ministry, a high-powered committee has been constituted to investigate the candidates’ issues and uncertainties. According to the notification, the committee will be led by Deepak Peter, the Railway Board’s Principal Executive Director.

Candidates have three weeks, through February 16, to submit their grievances and ideas to the committee at

“Candidates have three weeks, until February 16, 2022, to submit their issues, and the committee will examine these concerns and provide recommendations by March 4, 2022,” the announcement stated.

“I request students not to take the law into their hands,” Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw told in response to the students’ protest. We will take their problems and concerns very seriously.

Our goal is to get to the bottom of this problem as rapidly as possible. Candidates’ representations will be scrutinized by a panel. Chief Ministers are functioning in a delicate manner, and we are in communication with them. We encourage applicants to file official grievances,” he continued.

PROTESTERS SET FIRE TO A TRAIN COACH

Protesting applicants set a railway coach on fire in Gaya, Bihar, on Wednesday. Senior Superintendent of Police of Gaya Aditya Kumar, speaking to news agency, claimed that the “situation is under control” and that several demonstrators have been recognized.

The situation is now under control. “They set fire to it (coach/train), and we’ve recognized a few of them,” he said.

Thousands of protesting hopefuls blocked the Delhi-Kolkata line at Rajendra Nagar Terminal in Patna and Arrah on January 24, prompting the Railway Ministry’s recent announcement.

“Such erroneous activities constitute the pinnacle of indiscipline, leaving such candidates unfit for employment with the railways or the government. We’ll look at videos of similar acts. Candidates/aspirants found engaging in illegal activities will face police action as well as a lifetime ban from applying for railway jobs “On Tuesday, the Railway Ministry issued a notice.

IN PRAYAGRAJ, A RAILWAY TRACK WAS ABLAZED, ANDPEOPLE WERE ARRESTED.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police in Prayagraj arrested two people and filed a complaint against over 1,000 unidentified people for allegedly setting fire to a railway track.

“About 1000 anti-social elements dressed as students gathered outside Prayag station and allegedly lit the railway track on fire,” Ajay Kumar, SSP Prayagraj.

“On January 25, a video circulated [on social media] in which some police officers were seen employing excessive force towards students. All of them have been suspended with immediate effect, and they will face severe consequences” he continued.

A video released on Tuesday showed six police officers viciously assaulting unidentified people with lathis. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has expressed solidarity with the protesting students in response to the video.

“Violent attack by police in Allahabad on innocent students who spoke up for their freedom to work shameful and very condemnable.” The BJP government’s misbehavior with students will lead to the party’s historic demise.

Activists blocked the passage of many trains on Tuesday, including the Rajendra Nagar-New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani Express, the Sampoorna Kranti Express, and the South Bihar Express.

A large crowd of students gathered at the Fatuha railway station in Patna district, where they successfully stopped a cargo train.

WHY ARE ASPIRANTS OF THE RRB PROTESTING?

Aspirants for the railway exam have increased their criticism in recent days, arguing that the second step of the selection process amounted to “cheating” those who had passed the NTPC’s first level.

“In the RRB notice for 2019, only one examination was specified. The RRB has now published new notifications, which include two examinations. The second examination disqualifies many of the selected candidates. The RRB is committing outright fraud. Its authorities are tampering with the kids’ futures “Andhir Sahay, a student protesting at Patna’s Rajendra Nagar Terminal, told IANS.
